Translated this meal is called “poor man’s steak”, when I was little living in Peru we went to a restaurant and when this came out after I ordered it I look at my mom and said “Mom if this is how poor people eat, I want to be poor forever!”. Needless to say whenever we go out to a restaurant my family still jokes and asks if I’ll be poor that day.
Just made some Poor Man’s Steak
“Bistec a lo pobre” - steak, eggs, plantains, rice and toast). Remembering that when I was little I used to say “Mom if this is how a poor man eats then I want to be poor forever!” lmao that idea changed quickly XD
